Do we yearn to see the mercy that God shows to His people, like the cherubim over the mercy seat? Do we believe that God's holiness is deserving of praise, like the seraphim? We ought to. "But you [are] a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own peculiar people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who brought you out of darkness into His wonderful light; who once [were] not a people but [are] now the people of God; who had not attained mercy but now have attained mercy” (1 Peter 2:9-10).
It's somewhat debatable whether seraphim or cherubim may truly be referred to as angels. According to Hebrews 1:7, they may be a more advanced class or order of angels. They appear to be distinct from angels if they are similar to the "living creatures" described in the book of Revelation (4:6-8; 5:11).
Do you have the right to live a life of worship and devotion to such a great God because you have received the gospel call? - See 2 Thessalonians 2:14 and Corinthians 1:12–13.
They were unquestionably "ministering spirits" in both cases, and their work serves to remind us of the majesty and splendor of Him who is seated on the throne and of the God that pardons and shows mercy.
